Privacy notice
Your details
A lot of the people on our list are teenagers, so we keep this short and collect as little as we can. This notice covers this website and the Drop 01 waitlist. It follows the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Last updated: 27 October 2026
The short version
- The waitlist takes your first name and an email or Instagram handle. That's it.
- We use it for one thing: telling you when Drop 01 opens. We never sell or share it, and there are no ads.
- We delete the list after Drop 01.
- Your fitting room settings and photos stay on your device. They're never uploaded.
- Want off the list? DM @schist.nz or text 027 594 9192. No reason needed.
Who we are
SCHIST is a streetwear brand from Cromwell, Central Otago, run by Matthew Newton (trading as SCHIST). For any privacy question or request, text or call 027 594 9192 or DM @schist.nz on Instagram.
What the waitlist collects
When you join the waitlist, we keep:
- your first name
- your email address or Instagram handle (whichever you give us)
- your tick that you're 16 or older, or that your parent says it's OK
- the time you signed up, and a note that it came from this website
We don't ask for your surname, age, date of birth, school, phone number or address.
Why we use it
Only to tell you when Drop 01 opens (Friday 4 December 2026, 6pm). If you join again for a later drop, we'll use it to tell you about that one.
We don't sell, rent or share the list. We don't add you to other marketing lists, build profiles or use your details for ads.
Where it's stored
The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Waitlist sign-ups are saved in a database run by Supabase, in its Sydney, Australia region.
That means your details are stored outside New Zealand. Supabase stores them for us as our service provider, with its own security and privacy safeguards. Australia also has its own privacy law. The site can only add names to the list; only we can see it.
How long we keep it
We delete the waitlist after Drop 01. There are two exceptions:
- If you buy something, our store's privacy policy covers your order details.
- If you join the list again for a later drop, we keep your details until that drop is done.
Seeing, fixing or removing your details
You can ask to see what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to take you off the list at any time. DM @schist.nz on Instagram or text or call 027 594 9192. You don't need to give a reason. We'll reply as soon as we can, and within 20 working days at the latest.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
If you're under 16
To join the list you need to tick that you're 16 or older, or that your parent or caregiver says it's OK. A parent or caregiver can ask us to remove their child's details at any time, the same way as above.
What stays on your device
Some parts of the site save things in your browser only. They're never sent to us or anyone else:
- The 3D fitting room. Your height, build, measurements, skin tone and hair are saved in your browser's local storage, so they're there next time you visit.
- Measure me from a photo (16+). If you choose to use it, the photo is measured on your device by a model the site downloads to your browser. The photo is never shown, saved or uploaded, and it's wiped from memory as soon as the measuring is done. Only the resulting numbers (shoulders, chest, waist) are kept, with your other fitting room settings.
- The shop preview cart. Anything you add is saved in your browser only.
To clear these, clear this site's data in your browser settings.
Cookies and analytics
This site doesn't set any cookies. It may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. That doesn't use cookies and doesn't track individual people.
Other services the site loads
Our fonts come from Google Fonts, and the 3D library comes from cdnjs (run by Cloudflare). Like any website your browser connects to, they see your IP address when they send those files.
Changes
If we change how we use your details, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
